So I met an old timer

Gave me things that I need you know

Even my part in this ugly show

Never met a soul kinder

Took a part of him every day

Opened his heart and I heard him say

 

I’ve learned some things

Turned wood and pulled strings

But that’s not all I am

If I done wrong

I didn’t mean harm

I was a gentle man

 

Tell me something old timer

Do you feel the same now as then

Give me the key so my mind won’t bend

Take your love as you find her

Give her everything that you can
